Adelaide City Tour 2009

I’ve just found some photos lying around from a “tour” in Adelaide City we did in September 2009 so I made a gallery of them.

I say “tour” because as I recall (and my memory is a bit hazy) the plan for the day was to meet on a Sunday around lunch at The Elephant, eat, do a bit of dancing, and then go somewhere else. So, predictably in hindsight, we ended up meeting at The Elephant and dancing, feasting, and drinking there for the rest of the afternoon.

It turned out The Elephant (a “British theme” pub in the East End on a side lane off Rundle St in Adelaide) is a decent venue for dancing, with a nice paved pedestrian lane out the front. The publican seemed happy for us to invade his pub – but that may have been simply because he was having a slow day. On the day Rundle St had been closed off to traffic for a street market, and this meant a small but steady stream of passers-by stopping to watch us dance. Further the weather was rather nice and just right for dancing – a cool but sunny early Spring afternoon.

As I remember, a good time had by all. But as I mentioned earlier, my memory of the day is a little hazy. If anyone has a differing recollection of the day I’d be interested to hear about it in the comments.

Here’s the photos:
