Mount Barker Tour

6 August 2013 146 views No Comment

On Saturday, July 27, the grey and gloomy skies of Mount Barker were suddenly enlivened by the sounds and vigour of the Adelaide Morris Men, the Lancashire Witches and Hedgemonkey Morris. The inaugural Mount Barker Tour had begun.

Teams met for some energetic dancing before lunch at Auchendarroch House, an old (by Australian standards) and stately house before having a nourishing meal and the obligatory pint of the local beer, or glass of wine, before setting off for the local (micro) brewery, the Prancing Pony. All sides put on a lively show for the owners and patrons at the Prancing Pony while enjoying a fine range of ales. A good afternoon’s dancing was enjoyed by all before the teams repaired to Chez Mundy for an evening barbecue and general revelry.
